(a) i. Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) – Standard Five-year programme

Five (5) credit level passes in SSCE (WAEC or NECO)/GCE O/L in physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English Language obtained at not more than two (2) sittings. Equivalent qualifications such as NABTEB are acceptable. An acceptable pass in UTME is also required

 

(a)ii Required Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

The UTME subject combinations for students seeking admission into the Physics/Electronic and Chemistry Techniques are English Language, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.  On the other hand, the subject combinations for the remaining techniques (Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pharmacology/Physiology) techniques are English language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

(b) Direct Entry – Standard Four-year programme

National Diploma (ND) or Bachelor Science Degree (B.Sc) in Science Laboratory Technology or any of the relevant subjects in the learning areas passed at a minimum of Lower Credit or Lower Class Honours, respectively, from recognized higher institutions. Direct entry candidates must also possess the minimum required five (5) credit level passes at SSCE/GCE O/L or its equivalent. The minimum duration of the programme for direct entry is four (4) years and the students enter the programme in second year of the standard five-year programme.
